Circle of Security Course
Circle of Security is a parent education & psychotherapy intervention developed after decades of research, by Glen Cooper, Kent Hoffman, Robert Marvin, & Bert Powell. The facilitated course is designed to shift problematic or 'at risk' patterns of attachment-caregiving interactions to a more appropriate developmental pathway.
Four Core principals govern the course:
that the quality of the child parent attachment plays a significant role in the life trajectory of the child
that lasting change results from parents changing their caregiving patterns rather than by learning techniques to manage their child's behaviour
that parents’ relationship capacities are best enhanced if they themselves are operating within a secure base relationship
that interventions designed to enhance the quality of child-parent attachments will be especially effective if they are focused on the caregiver & based on the strengths & difficulties of each caregiver/child relationship.
Linda Campbell is a registered Circle of Security group facilitator. To book into the next face-to-face Circle of Security course at The Relationspace or to find out more information, please enter your details below.
